Our vessel oilers are responsible for the scheduled maintenance and upkeep of the fleet. This includes monthly duties such as replacing belts, greasing drivelines, and replacing zincs. Scheduled maintenance includes oil changes and other vessel maintenance as needed. The vessel oilers work alongside mechanics and vessel engineers to assist as needed with more complex vessel repairs. The oilers will report directly to the Port Engineer. As needed, the oilers also serve as relief deckhands, assist with topside barge maintenance, and perform dock repairs. Vessel oilers must be able to keep basic records, perform their assignments with minimal supervision, adhere to strict safety protocols, and work in a customer service aspect if needed. This is a seasonal position with the opportunity for advancement at the discretion of the company’s management team.
