This position is responsible for performance of preventive and routine corrective maintenance of electrical systems, equipment and fixtures. Work is performed at the journeyman level and assignments are received from the supervisor and are performed independently and in accordance with accepted trade practices. This position will be required to maintain, repair, install and alter wiring, electrical devices, machinery, and equipment associated with the various building systems within a correctional institution. This position is responsible for locating and diagnosing troubles occurring in institutional electrical systems and makes necessary repairs.
