Lagger - Semi-Skilled Groton

Pipecoverers (Laggers) work with fiberglass, calcium silicate, PVC Nitrile rubber, barium sulfate, and all standard lagging coverings and provide anti-sweat, personnel protection, thermal and acoustic insulation treatments on all piping systems and major shipboard components as required by plan. Uses chicken wire and high temperature cement to provide a hard covering on some insulation materials and sews various coverings on other treatments. Is able to interpret drawings and insulation schedules as necessary to complete assigned work. Work conditions may include entry into restricted and confined spaces.
