The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is responsible for managing and protecting the state’s renewable natural resources, including all wildlife and aquatic life.
This position is responsible for hunter education, general conservation, outdoor skills, archery and shooting sports education programs in assigned area as well as the day-to-day operations of the Waddill Outdoor Refuge located at 4142 North Flannery Road, Baton Rouge. The incumbent is responsible for directing student workers and collaborating with the other facility biologist. Coordinates and recruits a network of volunteer hunter education instructors in assigned area. Presents basic to advanced educational programs to the public on outdoor skills and safety, and shooting sports including Archery in Louisiana Schools (ALAS). Frequent night and weekend work is required. Strong public speaking skills are desired.
