Information Technology Specialist
Assists the Force Support Squadron Information Technology Office (ITC) staff and managers in all matters relating to automated systems .mil and .com domain administration, configuring computers and communications hardware/software applications used within Force Support Squadron NAF activities. This includes, but not limited to developing programs for local requirements using current versions of Microsoft Access and Excel and train personnel in their use; install software and hardware and provide user training as required. Become familiar with Air Force policy and Robins AFB network requirements to connect software/hardware to the Robins Domain; propose and advise the ITO Manager on hardware and software upgrades, within governments guidelines, to keep pace with changing technologies. Provide technical support and assistance for commerical-off-the shelf (COTS) applications and/or legacy systems, such as Aloha Point-of-Sale (POS) system, Qubica Bowling POS< REC TRAC POS, and other POS systems; current and previous versions of Microsoft browser software, anti-virus software, desktop operating systems, and network e-mail, network hardware systems such as cable, hubs, routers, and current network server reconfigurations; assists with site preparation for new system installations; assists with risk analysis documentation, develops operating instructions; and provides Help Desk assistance to Force Support Squadron computer/software users on all NAF systems. Performs network vulnerability testing on both internal and external settings; verify correct ports are opened or closed (as appropriate); corrects any network security vulnerabilities to ensure both PCI compliance and security of the network; works closely with facility managers to ensure PCI compliance is completed on an annual basis. Assist with the accountability of all computer/network/communication assets within the Force Support Squadron to include but not limited to: computers, Ipads, cell phones, monitors, printers, switches, servers, etc. Must report to Resource Management Flight Chief.
